The uploaded product images are converted to thumbnails server-side. Instead of the original image, e.g., 100 KB, much smaller images (thumbnails) of only a few KB (between 1.5 and 8 KB) are generated and sent to the browser – this reduces download time and significantly speeds up page loading!

The (unencrypted!) PHP code is also easily understandable for beginners and can be easily adapted to your own ideas with basic knowledge of PHP and MySQL.
